Here are some insurance plans that you may or may not be familiar with.

Individual Plans

Most likely this is the type insurance you want if you are looking for an insurance policy for your family as a whole. It covers your family while you pay a certain amount per month.

Group Plans

Most likely this is the type of insurance you want if you are looking for an insurance policy for your employers. Group insurance can be bought as a discount because it is needed for many employers. A lot of big businesses and major corporations use group insurance.

Small Business Plans

Most likely this is the type of insurance you want if you are looking for an insurance policy for your small business. If you own a small business with up to two employees you could be eligible for small business insurance.

These are important plans to know when you are looking into a health insurance quote.

On the individual plans, you pay a monthly, quarterly or annual fee. This plan for your family would come with a deductible that would need to be met at the beginning of the year. You can choose a high deductible or a low deductible. If you have a larger annual income, you might opt for the high deductible, hedging that you will be able to take care of the little medical problems that come up that require a doctor visit. Once you satisfy this high deductible, the insurance would kick in. You would still have a co-pay, whether or not you choose a plan with a high deductible or a low deductible. A low annual deductible would be met by you, out of your pocket, over the first several months of each year. Then, your insurance would kick in and you would have a co-pay. You have to decide which is best for you and your family which, once again, takes research on your part. There are even insurance brokers out there that can help you find a plan that is right for you.

My family has a low deductible that we meet probably within the first month of each year. Thereafter, our insurance covers doctor appointments with us paying the co-pay. I am working for a small company that does not offer an insurance plan, so I had to find an affordable family health insurance plan that would meet my family’s needs. This worked real well for us last year when our son broke his leg. Luckily, we had the money to pay up front for the cost of setting his leg and all the subsequent doctor visits that followed. It was a bad break, so he had physical therapy for about 6 weeks afterwards. Because we had satisfied our deductible right up front because of these doctor bills that we had to pay, when the insurance kicked in, we were thankful that we only had to meet a co-pay for each visit he had after that. I really don’t know what we would have done without that insurance.

I once had a group plan that covered me and my family. I was working for a large company, and this plan was absolutely wonderful. The company I worked for contributed towards the group insurance, as well as us employees paying a certain share. That way, the overall cost of the insurance was low. I regret now that I still don’t have the benefit of working for a large company and having that large company contribute to help pay for my family’s medical insurance. We met our annual deductible each year, probably in the first month, and then we would have a set co-pay for each medical doctor visit after that. I don’t know if there are any large companies hiring out there right now that does this type of thing for their employees. I’m pretty sure the Federal Government provides this option on their insurance plans available to their employees, but I don’t now if individual state governments provide the same type care for their employees. It would be interesting to find out.

Our son has a small business with three employees so he takes advantage of the small business plans for affordable family health insurance. It isn’t a small price that he pays and that his employees pay, but at least they have insurance. And their annual deductible is a little on the high side, but it works for all the employees.

I’ve told you a little about the various health insurance policies that you can look into. Take your time, research, research, research. Then, after you have done all that, try your very best to get a good medical insurance plan for your family, keeping the cost as low as possible. These times are tough, but if you look around, do enough research, you will find a company that is right for you.

Remember, no charges are required for getting a quote for affordable family health insurance. That is just part of your research in finding the medical insurance plan that is right for your family, an affordable family health insurance plan.

It’s a tough thing, you might think, to undertake this job of researching for your family. But it’s the best thing in the world you can do for them. They are too young for Medicare, you are too young for Medicare, and in the meantime you have to do the very best for them that you can.

I researched long and hard until I found the right policy for my family. It was well worth the time that I put into it. You will find that the same is true for you.

I was hospitalized not too long ago. I am thankful for every second that I have with my family. Looking back, I think I didn’t I appreciated that as much as I do now. You take life for granted, take people for granted. It isn’t until a medical emergency comes up that your eyes get opened real fast.
